Ainu Mosir
Kanto, a fourteen-year-old indigenous Ainu boy, searches for a spiritual connection to his deceased father. Starring non-actor Ainu casts, the film was completed as a Japan/US/China co-production in 2020. NY Times reviewed the film as follows, “Rather than relying on dialogue, Fukunaga allows emotion to shine through musical performances. These scenes speak for themselves, and they build upon the story with quiet power.”

14歳のアイヌの少年が、亡くなった父親の死や自分のルーツと向き合いながら成長していく物語。主人公のカントを始めアイヌの人々が本人役で出演し、日米中の国際共同制作として2020年に完成。NYタイムズの映画評では、「セリフに頼るのではなく、様々な音楽によって感情を輝かせている。それらのシーンは自らが語りかけ、静かな力でストーリーを紡いでいる。」と紹介された。
